Transforming Parking Services at Children’s Medical Center Dallas

Children’s Medical Center Dallas and Platinum Parking joined forces to enhance and expand parking services for patients, visitors, and staff. Over the last five years, under the team’s leadership, Platinum Parking has transformed the hospital’s parking infrastructure, significantly improving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Most recently, Hector Rivera has taken the reigns, taking management to the next level.

When Platinum Parking took over the parking management at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, the engagement included managing two valet stands and parking ambassadors for three garages and a surface lot. The hospital needed a more comprehensive parking solution to accommodate its growing needs and enhance the patient and visitor experience. 

Expansion of Services

Increased Staffing: Over the past two years, the staff has grown from 40 to approximately 75 full-time employees, reflecting the expansion of services and responsibilities.

Valet Services: Beyond the initial two valet stands, Platinum Parking introduced a 24/7 emergency room valet service and expanded services to a secondary campus in Plano.

Facility Maintenance: Recently, Platinum Parking took on the maintenance of all parking facilities, adding 20 full-time employees to manage these responsibilities effectively.

Shuttle Services: To improve accessibility, a shuttle service was implemented, running from the parking lot to the specialty surgical center with two shuttles operating five days a week. This initiative has received numerous compliments from patients and visitors for its convenience and efficiency.

Results

Customer Satisfaction: The shuttle service has been particularly well-received, with patients and visitors expressing their appreciation for the convenience that helps ease the stress of being at a hospital. Customer service scores continue to remain high at an average of 4.92/5 for valet and 5/5 for shuttle services.

Operational Efficiency: Expending valet and maintenance services has streamlined operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient parking experience.

And, needless to say, when Platinum Parking is involved in a project, we pride ourselves on always looking at “what’s next.” We hang our hat on continuous evaluation and improvement of services to meet the evolving needs of Children’s Medical Center Dallas and its patients.
